Starter actions

When you open Composer on an empty chat, LOIS for Word shows a set of starter actions above the input. These are one-click prompts that run against the document you have open. Starter actions include:
  • Review the document — runs a high-level review of the open draft
  • Tidy drafting errors — surfaces typos, inconsistencies, and small drafting issues
  • Extract key details — pulls parties, dates, amounts, and other key terms
In addition to these, Composer suggests up to three document-specific starter prompts based on the content of your open document. Suggestions update as the document changes. To use a starter action, select it. The prompt is sent directly to Composer — it does not fill the input field first. After the first message, the starter panel is replaced by the normal chat thread. If the document is empty or starter suggestions can’t be generated, Composer falls back to a greeting and an empty input.

Chatting in Composer

Type a question or request into the input and press Enter. Composer can:
  • Answer questions about any clause or term in the open document
  • Draft new language, redlines, or fallback positions
  • Summarize sections or the full agreement
  • Flag risks and unusual terms
