How authentication, single sign-on, and access controls work across the LOIS for Word web app and the Microsoft Word add-in to keep contract data secure.

LOIS for Word uses Microsoft 365 authentication, giving legal teams seamless and secure access across web and Word.

Authentication system

LOIS for Word integrates directly with your Microsoft 365 environment, so your users can:

• Log in using existing Microsoft credentials
• Access LOIS for Word directly inside Word without a separate login
• Benefit from Microsoft’s built-in security: SSO, MFA, conditional access, and more
• Avoid context switching—contract review stays in Word where lawyers work

No need for password management or account provisioning—LOIS for Word aligns with the tools your team already uses.

Dual-layered access control

LOIS for Word offers two levels of control:

1. In-app user access (Pincites Web)

In the Users tab on the LOIS for Word web app, admins can:

• Add or remove users
• Set organization-level permissions
• Control access to contracts and playbooks

2. Microsoft Word access (admin-controlled)

From your Microsoft 365 Admin Center:

• Approve and deploy the LOIS for Word add-in via Integrated Apps
• Assign access to specific users or groups
• Manage deployment centrally with no individual installs needed

Microsoft Admin Setup

Follow the steps in your Microsoft 365 Admin Center:

1. Visit Integrated Apps
2. Search for and install the LOIS for Word Word add-in
3. Assign users or groups using the fly-out panel
